Mary Ann was born about 1848-1850[1] in County Tyrone.[2]
She was the daughter of Thomas Shaw (flax merchant) and Sarah Ann Coyle, both deceased as of 1869.[3]
On 16 Mar 1869 at Tradeston, Glasgow, Scotland, she married James Maxwell, a foundry labourer.

She moved with James back to his home of Dunmore, Lissan, County Tyrone, Ireland.

She passed away 13 Jul 1923 "age 71", late of Ballynagilly. She was buried at Claggan Presbyterian. The chief mourners were:
