Mary Shaughnessy was born around 1827 in Tulla, County Clare, Ireland to parents Js Shaughnessy and Biddy Carmody. She was baptized on 20 Dec 1827 in Killaloe, Tulla, County Clare, Ireland.[1]
Mary was transported as a convict to Tasmania in 1850, traveling aboard the Ship "Duke of Cornwall." [2][3][4]
She firstly married John Button on 15 Sep 1851 in Launceston, Tasmania. Their witnesses were Thomas Webb and Henry Weston. [5][6][7]
Children: John, William Ernest,[8] Mary Elizabeth, Charles, Joseph,[9] Ellen Sarah.[10]
After John died in 1862 she had a son with George Plaskett (1833-1916)
Child: George Plaskett 1863.
She married secondly Robert Barker on 21 Oct 1890 in Perth, Tasmania, Australia. [11]
Child: Susan.
She died on 5 Jul 1920 in Perth, Tasmania, Australia.[12]
