1st Lieutenant Eunice Shannon was a prisoner of war in Stalag-3 in Germany during World War II.
Eunice was born 21 October 1918 in Mountain View, Arkansas. He was the son of William Shannon and Lelia Moore.
Reginald was the pilot of the B-24 Liberator bomber, Natchez-Belle, #42-40373, participating in Operation Tidal Wave the low-level attack on the Romanian oil refineries at Ploesti on 1 August 1943. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for the mission.
He was shot down while piloting the Liberator bomber Natchez-Belle, #42-40373 during a mission over Foggia, Italy on 16 August 1943. He was liberated from Stalag-3 on 29 April 1945.
He married Hazel Terrell on 25 May 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas.[1]
He passed away 20 June 1999 in Hurst Texas.[2][3][4]
