Biography

Rosanna, Rosa/Rose Ann, as she was known, was born in Ohio Township, Monroe County, Ohio to Frederick (Fred as he was later recorded in census records) and Christina Shafer who were immigrants of Wertenberg, (Germany). Frederick died between 1880 and 1900. Christina who was the mother of 9 and 4 living children in 1900, was living with her daughter, Mary and Adolph Weltsoky and their family, still in Monroe County.

Rosanna married Christian Luikart in 1874 and was the mother of at least 7 children.

Rosa and Chris lived in Monroe County, Ohio until sometime after 1880, but at some point they moved to Marshall County, West Virginia where she died in 1899.

I have been unable to find exactly when Rosa's parents, Frederick and Christina Shafer, immigrated to the USA, or where they were married, so I have not at this time created profiles for them.

Rosa is buried in Taylors Ridge Cemetery, Moundsville, Marshall County West Virginia, USA along with Christian who died 26 Aug 1905.
