Archie was born on May 7, 1913 at Huntsville in Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of Burchfield Sexton and Della ( Keeton ) Sexton. He married Christine Olive Stephens on December 26, 1936 in Scott County. He passed away on Monday, October 6, 1984 at his home in Huntsville.

Archie (Joe Bush) Sexton, 71, of Huntsville, passed away suddenly Monday afternoon, October 6, 1984, at his home. Mr. Sexton was the son of the late Burchfield Sexton and the late Della Keeton Sexton and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Roberts; a sister, Orangie Owens; and three brothers: Kelsie and Dutch Sexton, and Luther Phillips; one granddaughter, Patricia Darlene Angel; and one great-granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Christine O. Stephens Sexton of Clinton; four daughters: Mrs. Jack W. (Evelyn) Miner of Clinton, Mrs. Roy E. (Mary Jo) Duncan of Hermitage, Mrs. Bill (Virginia Rose) Goodman of Glenmary, and Mrs. George (Martha Lou) Hague of Jacksonville, N. C.; one son, Paul Denton (Denny) Sexton of the High Point community; one brother, Leon Sexton of Huntsville; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) with Rev. C. J. Thompson officiating. Irene Chitwood and Imogene King will sing. Burial will be in the Keeton Cemetery in Huntsville. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (Source: The Scott County News, 11 Oct 1984, p14)
