Unable to locate John on the 1861 census - based on the birth registrations of his children, he was living in London at the time.
John and his family emigrated to the United States sometime after the birth of son Alfred Walter in 1864.
John's wife passed away in 1893 in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
John Sear passed away on 7 May 1908 at 940 Cemetery St in Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County - he was 87 years 8 months 37 days old; his date of birth was 10 Aug 1820; he was widowed; his birthplace was England; his occupation was laborer; his father was John Sear, born in England; his mother was ? Foster, born in England; the informant was his son A W Sear of 940 Cemetery St; cause of death was pneumonia, with a fall and injury contributing; he was buried at Wildwood on 9 May 1908.[5]
John Sear is buried at Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport.[6]
