Joan (Scott) Canning is Notable.
European Aristocracy
Joan Scott was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

"FUNERAL OF LADY CANNING. -- The remains of the late Viscountess Canning were removed from Grosvenor-square on Thursday morning for interment in Westminster Abbey.

"Lord Canning and the Marquess of Clanricarde were the chief mourners.

"The private carriage of the Princess Sophia, with the servants in deep mourning, joined the procession on its road to the Abbey."

Princess Sophia of Hanover was the long-time "partner" of General Sir Brent Spencer, brother-in-law of Paul Canning of Garvagh.

"Aug. 20, 1822. Sent proposal to Miss [Harriet] Canning. . . I do not expect a positive refusal, but cannot hope and flatter myself that I shall be accepted. I must stay here till Mon. for the answer.

"July 30, 1823. Mrs. [George] Canning and I are great friends. She is a clever, worldly-minded woman; the daughter, I fear, is a coquette, rather piqued with my total indifference and treating her as I should the most indifferent acquaintance."
