Essex Scottish Regiment. Served in WW2, was POW in Germany.

William Henderson Scott was born in 1915 in Ontario, Canada, son of William George Kerr Scott (1886–1942) and Harriette Amanda Townsend (1890–1943).

His siblings were:

William married Charmian Odette Sansom (born in 1921 in Canada).

William died in February, 2005 in Fredericton, York County, New Brunswick, Canada, aged 89. He was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredericton, York County, New Brunswick.[1]

Obituary

SCOTT, William Henderson, Major (Retired) Essex Scottish and Black Watch Died in his 89th year peacefully at his home in Fredericton as a result of a fall. He was the much loved husband of Charmian (Sansom) for 59 years. He leaves three children and three grandchildren, Deborah and daughter Olivia of Grange-Over Sands, England, Kevin and his wife Janet (Forbes) and their children Alex, and Robin of Reading Massachusetts, and Robert of Canmore, AB. He also leaves a nephew and two nieces and their families in California and Oregon. After his army service Bill was for 7 years Manager of Residences at UNB. In the Federal election of 1980 he was Returning Officer in Fredericton and from 1975 -1987 he was Secretary Manager of the Maritime Seniors Golf Association and later became President. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 512 Charlotte Street, Fredericton on Tuesday, March 1st, 2005 at 3:00 pm. Rev. Douglas Blaikie will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made to the charity of the donor's choice. wwwmcadamsfh.com
