Hello Dianne,

It's Thon time again, this time the Connect-a-Thon! It will be from January 19-22, 2024. Do you want to participate with Team Cornbread Catchers in this Thon? Use this link to get to the G2G sign up post and add a comment that you want to be on the Cornbread Catchers team!

We hope you can join us! Deadline for registering is tomorrow (Wednesday, January 17).

Debi

PS For this event, "connecting" means that you add a profile from one of the links on an existing profile for parents, siblings, spouse, and children. The goal is to add as many linked profiles as possible.

Hi, Dianne. I just want to say thanks for all the Smith and extended family profiles you've been adding lately. This is my dad's mother's family, and it's great to see someone else working on the more recent generations. :)

Our connection finder shows your brother-in-law is a direct male line Smith. I don't suppose you know if he's done a Ydna test, or might be willing to? My grandmother has no surviving brothers, and the Smith line is a brick wall only a few generations back. I would love to learn if we connect to any other known Smith lines. Thanks so much, again, for all your work!

Hi Dianne,

I'm helping to lead the Cornbread Catchers for the upcoming April Connect-a-Thon. I'm new at this so I'm learning as I go. I just wanted to officially welcome you and make sure you are on our Discord channel so the whole team can chat during the Thon and cheer each other on -- and help each other out!

Looking forward to a great weekend and making lots of great connections!

Hi Dianne,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!

It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Hi Again,

I sent you a check-in message a week ago about the Military and War Project to ask you about your continued involvement but have not yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project? If I do not hear from you by the same time next week, I will assume that you've moved on to other things. You are most welcome to re-join the project at any time.

Best wishes,

Mary~ Project Coordinator, Military and War Project
