Projects are a great way to collaborate on your ancestors' profiles and learn the naming conventions and other standards used for profiles from particular places and time periods.

Have you read Research Before Editing? The Sources Style Guide is also essential reading for working on pre-1700 profiles.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

You might want to set your Privacy to Private with Public Family Tree. The WikiTree programming needs to see your Family Tree tab to make DNA and other cousin connections for you. Hello to all! I am in the process, as a beginner, of searching out my family history. I am looking at my father's lines (Scott, Lee, Tipton, and Smith) from Harlan, KY. I am also searching for my mother's history (Flowers, Brite, and Lane from North Carolina). I have more information on my father's family but I am still interested in my mom's family as well. Wish me luck on my journey.
