Biography

Birth

Antonio was born in 1866. He was the son of Angelo Di Scorpio and Rosa Mancini.

Immigration and Naturalization

In his naturalization papers, he lists January 4, 1894 as the date he arrived in the United States. However, he did not list a ship name (he couldn't remember) and as of yet, a record for this entrance has not been found. He also listed December 4, 1893 as the departure date from Naples, Italy. The trip between Naples and New York was typically not an entire month, so these dates seem strange, also considering he didn't remember the ship name, it is likely he did not remember the exact date. Additionally, his first child Angelo is listed as having been born in Rhode Island in 1891, though that could have been a mistake by the recorder for the death record.

He became a naturalized citizen of the United States on April 12, 1924. Michele Carluto of 9 Gesler Street, Providence, Rhode Island [his wife's brother], and Amato Corsetti of 38 Knight Street of Providence are listed as witnesses. [1][2] [3]

He married Maria Caduto on September 4, 1890 in Pietravairano, Italy. [4] They had the following children:

He passed away on September 10, 1946 from arteriosclerotic heart disease. He is buried in Saint Francis Cemetery in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. [21]
