Biography
Canadian-American Shakespearean actress. Mother of actress Phyllis Thaxter, Grandmother of actress Skye Aubrey. She helped found the Phyllis Schuyler Thaxter Theater in South Portland, the long time home of the Portland players and active community theater.
Marie was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Phlip Schuyler and Marie Louise Nelson.
She married Sidney St. Felix Thaxter on June 25, 1913 in Portland, Cumberland county, Maine. His parents were Sidney W. Thaxter and Julia St. Felix Thorn.[1]
Marie died July 31, 1969 in Portland, Cumberland, Maine and was buried there in Evergreen Cemetery.[2]
