William Philip Schreiner, an advocate in Cape Town who was later Prime Minister of the Cape Colony and South African High Commissioner in London married Frances Hester (Fanny) Reitz on 3 January 1884 in Swellendam.
His usual residence was in Newlands, Cape Town. His will was written in London where he was High Commissioner to the Union of South Africa, living at 59 Cadagon Square, Middlesex. In 1881 he was staying with his brother, Fred, in Compton Place Rd, Eastbourne and was a law student.
On 13 October 1898 he became 8th Prime Minister of the Cape Colony and served until 17 June 1900.
He had a nephew named Guy Hemming who was in an asylum in the Cape. (Will) Guy had a sister.
