Biography
Ruth Lillian Schott was born 10 Dec 1924 at home at 131 Miller, Mount Clemens, Michigan, to George John Schott Jr. and Phyllis Furton, the 2nd of 2 daughters.
She married William Edward 'Bill' Goeschel in a civil ceremony by a Justus of Peace in Napoleon, Ohio on 6 Apr 1940 and again in a religious ceremony on 16 Apr 1942 at St. Peters Catholic church in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.
While Bill was in the army during and shortly after WW2, Ruth and their 2 children, JoAnn Marie and George Henry, lived with her parents at 177 Burr, Mount Clemens.
She and Bill were to have 5 more children, Connie Jean, Lynn Mary, Christine Ann, William Edward Jr., and Robert Allen, all born at St. Joesph Hospital, Mount Clemens
Ruth and Bill built a home on Charbeau in Mount Clemens where they raised their family and spent the majority of the 1950's and 60's before moving to Richmond, Michigan about 1970. After the last three children graduated from high school and Bill had retired, she and Bill then moved to a house outside of Richmond on Arlington Road in Columbus Twp.
After Bill's death in 1967, Ruth continued to live in the house until a fire caused considerable smoke damage and she went to live with her daughter Connie and son-in-law Robert, while the repairs were made. She shuffered a stroke while hospitalized for another matter, and had to be place in a nursing home.
Ruth passed away 07 Feb 2005 at Yale Medilodge, Yale, Michigan, and was buried 11 Feb 2005 in St. Michaels Cemetery, Richmond, Macomb, MI, USA.
