Joseph was born in 1887 and Christened on 22 May 1887. Birth middle name was Franz but called Francis.

Draft Registration Card 1917 to 1918. Lived at 624 Belmont Ave Newark NJ. Employed as policeman Newark. Exemption claimed for having dependents. Light blue eyes, hair brown, not bald, tall medium build

Described as age 32 in the 1920 census and living at his parents home He passed away in 1930 from a fall from a second story window, as described by his son Joseph Schott

A Francis Schott age 3 is on the 1930 Census but living John Joseph Schott does not recall a sibling named Francis. Another draft registration card for WWII may be of this Joseph. John Joseph Schott b. 26 Nov 1881 of 16 Howard St Irvington Essex, New Jersey. It cites a brother Thomas. No record yet of a son Thomas by Joseph Anton and Margaretha Schott.

The 1885 Census shows a John Schott and Thomas Schott under age 4 in residence of Thomas and Mary Morgan. Orphaned? This corroborates brothers on registration card. More fun, Fred, Elizabeth, Albert, and Robert, and Emma Schneider appear to be neighbors, Schneiders from Geinsheim? [check] Albert and Robert cited in obit for Elizabeth Schneider.
