I'm interested in the Narragansett Planters, who were wealthy slaveowners in Rhode Island. I had always thought slavery was a Southern phenomenon. I have fairly good evidence that my Gardner line descends from one of these planters.

My other interest is my maternal line. I'd like to extend it beyond Judith Taylor-44924 who married Edmond Stokes-3554. My sister did an mtDNA test with the result H2a2a1c.

A curious fact that I would like an explanation for is that the couple Squire Boone-32 and his wife Sarah Morgan-406 show up in the trees of quite a few of my DNA matches. I'd love to know if this is just a coincidence or not.

i am fairly certain that Mary Brewer-866 and Mary Chapman Brewer-5337 are indeed the same person. I think the Half is there because both women were added, one with one of their sons, Stephen, and the other with a couple of their other sons. Simon and Mary are my ancestors, and according to my research Stephen is indeed the brother of the Edward, John and Joseph (as well as Samuel and Simon), all children of Simon and Mary Brewer (dau of John Brewer and Mary Whitmore). Ive found no other indication of either parent having another child named Mary. i think once merged, the Half should go away and show the proper relationship.

Thank you for your input, re: Gabriel Stokes, Stokes-232. I am reasonably certain that his parents were indeed David and Sarah (nee Hopkins) Stokes.
Your two Jonathan Partridge's are actually 1 and should be merged with Partridge-189. Jonathan had 3 wives... Elizabeth Learned, Ann Phipps, and Abigail Lovet. Between the years of 1718 and 1756 those three wives would produce 21 children.

Hello A, i just proposed a merge of taylor-17778 and taylor-6436. This should fill-in the blanks. I added some sources also. Thanks

A and Al are 8th cousins once removed

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As I always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Thank you for being a Wikitreer,

I don't believe Deacon John Smith b. 1726 had a son Samuel. He did have a brother Samuel though born in 1728.
