Biography

Edmund Sasse was born in Brussels on 19 July 1819, the third son of Richard Sasse and Harriet Blake nee Boyes.^[1][2][3]

He migrated from Europe to the colonies of Australia in December 1852.^[1]

He was a teacher for drawing and painting in Geelong, Victoria.^[1]

He married Elizabeth Sarah Gibson on 5 July 1855.^[3] Their children were:

• Harriet Matilda Blake Sasse (1856–1938)^[4]
• Sophia Elizabeth Sasse (?–1932)^[3]
• Maud Maria Sasse (1861?–1950)^[3]
• Augustus Richard Gibson Sasse (1863–?)^[5]

Edmund died on 17 May 1904 at his home, Myers Street, Geelong, aged 84 years.^[1][2][6]
