William was born in 1843. He passed away in 1920. William arrived in South Australia in 1848 with his parents in the Ship Westminister. “Burra. February 26, several friends of Mr. William Sara, late of the firm of G. & W. Sara & Dunstan, assembled at the Burra Hotel on Saturday afternoon to bid him farewell on the eve of his departure from the Burra. Mr. Lane, J.P., was Chairman, and in making the presentation referred to the guest's high standing both in business and social matters.” [South Australian Register, 27 Feb 1883] William was a contractor and resided at Willunga and Burra. “Assignment. George & William Sara, of Willunga and Adelaide, trading as George Sara & Co., builders.” [South Australian Register, 6 Feb 1885] William Sara, of Broken Hill, contractor was bankrupt in 1890. [NSW Government Gazette, 13 June 1890] William and Charlotte lived at Newton street, off Gypsum street, Railway Town, Broken Hill in 1916. [Barrier Miner, 22 Feb 1916] He is buried in the Methodist Cemetary at Broken Hill. [1]
