Louisa Sandercock (married name Bowey) was born on 27 July 1846 in Launceston, Cornwall, England, the daughter of Elizabeth Stanbury and Richard Sandercock[1]
She migrated to Australia in 1853, arriving in South Australia on the 'California'.[1]
She married Henry Stoneman Bowey on 25 September 1867 at the residence of her father, Cudlee Creek, South Australia. Louisa was 21 years old and Henry (son of Richard Bowey) was 20 years old[2] [1] Their children were:
Louisa died on 5 January 1912 at her home, Loch Street, St Peters, Adelaide, South Australia.[3] [1] Her remains were interred at Payneham Cemetery in St Peterson.[1]
According to Alison Bowey, Louisa and Henry had ten children, nine of whom survived infancy.[4] He was a member of the Tea Tree Gully District Council for two years and was associated with the Independent Order of Oddfellows.[4]
