Biography

Daniel Salmon was born in January 1750, in Branford, New Haven Connecticut, a son of Richard Salmon and Mary Curtis. ^[1] In August, 1771, Daniel married Mary Sterling, born October 6, 1748, in Trumbull, Fairfield county, Connecticut, ^[2] a daughter of Joseph Sterling and Esther Hawley. There are no known children by his first marriage Mary (Sterling) Salmon died December 6, 1772. ^[3]

On October 31, 1776, in Trunball, Connecticut, Daniel married Hannah Salmon. ^[4] "D.Salmon and H.Salmon" are found in the death records for their daughter, Deborah Salmon, who died October 27, 1780, in Stratford, Fairfield county, Connecticut. ^[5] "D.Salmon and H.Salmon" are found in the death records for their son, Daniel Salmon, Jr. who died July 13, 1796, in Stratford, at the age of 15 years. ^[6] Daniel had 11 children by his second marriage. ^[7]

Daniel died December 7, 1822, in Trumbull, Fairfield county, Connecticut, and is buried in the Long Hill Burial Ground. Hannah (Beach) Salmon, who was born November 15, 1751, in Branford, a daughter of Elnathan and Lydia Beach, died March 26, 1833, and is buried with him. ^[8]

His inventory was recorded in Stratford on 4 February 1823.^[9]
