Biography

Sammy Sigh was born on 19 Jul 1911 in Pennsylvania to Giovanni and Giuseppina (Guercio) Saia.[1][2][3][4] He would later chage his last name from Saia to Sigh to be more "American" and easier to spell.

Sammy was a bartender when he met his first wife Mary Etta (Cothron) Parker and they married in 1939.[5] They had two children, John and Sandy. In 1948 Sammy and Mary divorced.[6]

He became a Professional golfer, met his second wife Dorothy "Dottie" Reid and the two of them would do golf tournaments scoreboards later in life. Sammy died on 06 Mar 1998 in Crystal River, Citrus, Florida.[3][4]
