Bob Saget was a stand-up comedian before becoming well known as an actor. He starred as Danny Tanner in the TV sitcom Full House, as well as hosting America's Funniest Home Videos among taking other bit acting parts and continuing stand-up comedy throughout his career.
Saget was the son of Benjamin Morton Saget and Rosalyn "Dolly" Comer. He grew up in the Mount Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Saget graduated from Temple University's Theater and Film Program in 1978. He relocated to Los Angeles in 1979 to go to UCLA Film School, but quit after three days. He quickly figured out he could make money doing stand-up comedy and acting. Saget's 2014 comedy album, "That's What I'm Talkin' About", was nominated for a Grammy Award. His memoir, Dirty Daddy, was published the same year.
