I am a descendent of William and Anastasia Ryan, who arrived in Australia from Tipperary on the John Temperly in August 1863. I believe that this Daniel Ryan may have been a cousin of William's and have travelled on the same ship with them, and that they all nominated Daniel's brother / William's cousin, another William Ryan, as their contact in the colony at Rocky River, near Uralla. The passenger and deposit records from the John Temperly indicate that William's father was Daniel and that Daniel's father was William, his mother was Sarah, that he came from Killcooley and was 17 years old in November 1862, suggesting that he was born in 1845.
