Biography

Lady Louisa Jane Russell was born on the 8 July, 1812, Coates Castle, West Sussex, England, United Kingdom. She was the second daughter of John Russell, 6th Duke of Bedford and Lady Georgiana Gordon.^[1]

Lady Louisa married James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn on the 25 October, 1832, at Gordon Castle, Fochabers, Moyashire, Scotland. The couple had 14 children.

The duchess passed away on the 31 March, 1905, at Coates Castle, Pulborough, West Sussex, England, United Kingdom, at age 92. She was a member of the Royal Order of Victoria and Albert.
