Biography

John Rushworth was baptised 18 Dec 1735 at St George, Saham Toney, Norfolk. He was the son of Daniel Rushworth and Abigail Taylor. ^[1]

He was educated at Rugby School. His father wanted him to study at Oxford but he preferred to go into trade.

He married Sarah Woodfield 15 May 1759 in Banbury.^[2]

He passed away in 1814. His wife predeceased him.

In his Will, dated 8 Mar 1809, John Rushworth of Banbury, Oxfordshire, mentions Richard Hayden of Banbury, Oxford, Banker, the nephew of my late wife.

Their sister Mary the wife of Oliver Aplin of Charlbury, Oxford, Gent.
