Biography
Tabitha was baptised on 1 June 1766 at St James, Thornton, Bradford, Yorkshire, "Tabitha Daughter of Jonas Rushworth, Thornton, Weaver".[1]
She married Thomas Bairstow on 27 December 1784 at Bradford. Thomas Barstow, weaver, Tabitha Rushworth, spinster, both of the parish, he signed, she marked, witnesses John Thompson and Samuel Yeadon.[2] Thomas's signature looks more like Bairstow than Barstow, and Bairstow is given in the bishops transcripts.[3]
Tabitha died in 1786 and was buried at Thornton on 20 May 1786, Tabitha wife of Thomas Bairstow of Denholme, weaver.[4]
