He married Elsie Helling on 14 April 1909 in Joliet, Will County, Illinois. [2] They had the following children:

  3. Richard [4]

He appeared in the 1910 US Census in Joliet, Will County, Illinois. [3] He was living with his wife Elsie and their son Walter. [3] He was an iron worker for bridge works. [3]

He appeared in the 1930 US Census in Joliet. [4] He was widowed and living with his children Gertrude and Richard. [4] He was a machinist helper for a railroad. [4]

He appeared in the 1940 US Census in Joliet Township, Will County, Illinois. [5] He was living with his wife Marie and his step-children Chester and Myrtle Cooper. [5] He was a machinist helper for a railroad. [5]

In the 1950 census Charles (age 61), Machinist Helper, was the married to Lillian B Runge in Ingalls Park, Will, Illinois, United States.[6]

He died in 1972. [7] He was buried at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet, Will County, Illinois. [7]
