Biography

Walter Edward was born in 1906. He was the son of Louis C Ruegge and Emma Bertram.^[1]

Walter, along with brothers Herbert and Arthur, joined the newly formed Holstein Calf Club in Jefferson township, Madison County, Nebraska in April of 1921.^[2]

Walter Edward Ruegge (age 34) married Cleta [Cleda] Whitfield (age 24) on 15 March 1941 in Gooding, Idaho, United States.^[3][4][5] They had children, who may still be living.

Walter E Ruegge died (age 82) on 9 June 1988 residing in Gooding, Gooding, Idaho.^[6][7] Walter Edward Ruegge was mentioned on a memorial in Elmwood Cemetery, Gooding, Gooding County, Idaho, United States with a death date of 1988.^[8][9]

GOODING - Walter Edward 'Jack' Ruegge, 81, of Gooding, died Thursday, June 9, 1988, in the Green Acres Care Center at Gooding. Mr. Ruegge was born Nov. 16, 1906, in Tilden, Neb. He attended schools in Meadow Grove, Neb. He moved to Gooding in 1937 where he worked on the Arkoosh ranch for 10 years.
He married Cleda Whitfield March 15, 1940 [sic], in Gooding. He later worked as a mechanic and backhoe operator until retiring in 1968. He was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Meadow Grove, Neb., and later became a member of the First Christian Church in Gooding.
He is survived by his wife of Gooding; one daughter, <name redacted of Kent, Wash.; two sons, <name redacted> of Whittier, Calif. and Donald Eugene Whitfield of Hagerman; three brothers, Herbert Ruegge of Norfolk, Neb., Arthur Ruegge of Gooding, and Carl Ruegge of Altanont, Tenn.; three sisters, Martha Werner of Norfolk, Neb., Florence Godkin of Neligh, Neb., Ethel Conger of Laramie, Wyo; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisteres, and one brother.
A service will be conducted Tuesday, June 14, 1988, at Demaray's Gooding Chapel, at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Jim Davis. Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery at Gooding. Friends may call at the chapel on Monday from 1 to 7 p.m.."^[10]
