Biography
James was born in 1826 and christened 21 August 1826 at Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. He was the son of Anthony Royal and Ann Unknown.[1]
James married Charlotte Hodds 6 March 1848 at Yarmouth St Nicholas, Norfolk, England. His father's name is given as Anthony Royal and Charlotte's father's name is John Hodds.[2]
In the 1851 census, the family are living at the Back of Moat, Great Yarmouth, Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. The household consists of James John Royal b. 1826, a writer, his wife Charlotte Royal b. 1830 and their children Henry George Royal b. 1848 and Charlotte Royal b. 1851. [3]
