Bateman was born about 1791, the son of Henry Bateman Rowley and Polly Wilson. He married Sylvia Smith[1] in 1815 and had three known children

Reverend George Bateman Rowley b. 13 Jun 1818 d. 23 Jan 1908 m. Mary Beulah Carpenter[2]
He passed away about 1832.
