Gilbert was born in 1850. He was the son of Robert Roseboom and Hannah Groff.

In 1900, Gilbert age 50, Farmer, married 27 years (1873), father of 5 children, 4 are living, in Westford, Ostego, New York, USA.^[3]

He passed away in 1915. He is buried in the Westford Cemetery, Westford, Otsego County, New York, USA.^[4]

Research Note

He did not serve in the Civil War. Some trees on Ancestry have him mixed up with another man same name who did serve.^[5] It appears our Gilbert was a Farmer who lived his entire life in Westford, New York.
