Obituary
A remarkable man passed away on July 26, 2005. He was a father twelve times over, who lives on through his children and grandchildren. John put a stamp on his kids such that they cannot help but be recognized in Falmouth and Teaticket, where he lived all of his 89 years, at 148 Sandwich Rd. Married for almost 65 years to Josepha (Fontes), John Rose was the son of Fred and Maria Rose.
Perhaps John's real love affair after his wife and children was flowers and landscaping. The man quite literally could raise a green plant by pressing his thumb on a barren piece of land. John was a prodigious personality known throughout Cape Cod for his prowess as an athlete and as a social and political being. He treated all men and women the same and was well known for his homilies "A fool fools himself and the biggest fool is a damn fool". John was an avid Red Sox Fan.
John was predeceased by his beloved oldest daughter Patty, his brother Faustine and his incredible life partner Josepha (Fontes) Rose. He is survived by his sister Maria of Mashpee, 11 children John Jr., Sandra, Gerald, Stephen, Brian, Fred, Diane, Gordon, Tahira, Barry and Tammy, and 11 grandchildren.
