Irene’s sister, Diana Lee, was born on March 9, 1961, in Tacoma, Washington, when Irene was 1 year old.

Her sister Christa was born on June 15, 1963, in Bad Cannstatt, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, when Irene was 3 years old.

In 1966, Irene’s parents adopted Marliese’s 2 younger sisters after the death of Marliese’s father.
