Louis was born in 1788. He was the son of Alexandre Louis Auguste de Rohan-Chabot and Anne Louise Elisabeth de Montmorency. He was married to Marie-Georgine-Armandine de Sérent (daughter of Armand-Sigismond de Sérent and Charlotte Ferdinande de Choiseul) on 2 May 1808. He was Chamberlain of Napoleon Bonaparte until 1814. On 15 August 1810, Napoleon made him Count of the Empire. After the terrible death of his wife in 1815, he decided to enter the Orders, rather than remarry. From 1819, he studied at the Saint Sulpice seminary in Paris for three years. He was ordained a priest in 1822. In 1828 he was appointed Archbishop of Auch. In 1829 he was appointed archbishop of Besançon. He was created Cardinal by Pope Pius VIII on 5 July 1830. He passed away in 1833. [1] [2]
