Jane Ella Robertson was born on 7 Apr 1891 in New Richmond, Bonaventure, Quebec, Canada. While born Jane Ella, she preferred to be called Helen. Her parents were Hugh Robertson (1840 - 1915) and Mary Ann (Conners) Robertson (1847 - 1917).
She married Arthur David Lajeunesse (1897 - 1955) on 31 Dec 1918 in Montréal, Ile de Montréal, Québec.[1] They had met while he was convalescing in hospital following his return from the Western Front, where he had been injured in the left hip by a piece of shrapnel.
Helen died on 26 Mar 1966 in Oshawa, Durham, Ontario aged 74 and is buried in Ottawa.[2][3]
