Biography

"Another early Waite family is that of James Ripley, 59 in the 1850 census, [1] [2] and his wife, Eunice, 58. Their children at home in 1850 were Sylvanius, 27; Albert, 25; Edward, 22; Nathaniel, 16; and Thomas, 13. Another son, Cushing, 29, was already married and listed with his wife, Leona (Lavonia) age 20, and daughter, Mary, 10 months; also Mary Ellen Bailey, 6 years, is listed in this household." [3]

James Ripley was b. c1791 in Jefferson, Lincoln, Maine. [4] He married Eunice Linscott at Nobleboro 6 May 1813 [5] and died at Waite, 12 Jan 1864. [6]
