1. *Brevet Major Samuel Ringgold, 3d Artillery. Severely wounded in both thighs by cannon fire. Died May 11, 1846 at Point Isabel and buried outside walls of Fort Polk, Texas. Remains reinterred in Greenmount Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland, on December 22, 1846.  :Roll of Honor, Descendants of Mexican War Veterans
