Rose Emily Ridge born 12 December 1873 in Dublin, Ireland^[1], daughter of Joseph Henry Ridge (abt.1850-1876) and Emma (Reilly) Ridge (abt.1850-1907) and was their only surviving child.

After her father passed away Rose and her mother immigrated to Australia aboard the ship "Duchess of Edinburgh", arriving in Melbourne, Victoria on 4 Aug 1877^[2]. By 1879 they had emigrated to Hokitika, New Zealand, where Emma married a Scottish miner.

Rose married first in 1895 in New Zealand to Peter Webster^[3], the manager of a gold mine.

Their children were;

1. Paul Webster (1896-1896)^[4]
2. Keith Webster (1899-1942)^[5]

Rose moved to Sydney with her year old child to attend Trinity College (England) and study painting at the Sydney Art School with Julian Ashton.

Rose and Keith emigrated to the United States after her mother died, using the assumed names Sybill Robson and Eric Robson^[6]. They first settled in San Francisco in 1907, then giving her age as only 23 years. Rose placed her son Keith in an Orphanage in Los Angeles. She then moved to New York and went by the name Lola Ridge.

On 22 Oct 1919, Lola married David Lawson (1886-1980), a fellow radical in Greenwich, Connecticut^[7].

Lola published 61 poems from 1908 to 1937 in such leading magazines as Poetry, New Republic, and The Saturday Review of Literature. She was a contributing editor to The New Masses^{[8][9][10][11]}.

Lola died on May 19, 1941, in her home in Brooklyn, at the age of 67^[12]. Lola is buried in The Evergreens Cemetery, Brooklyn. ^[13]
