Richard Richie is a part of US Black heritage.

Richard enlisted as a soldier during the American Civil War.^[1] He signed up with Company B, 55th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry at Readville, Massachusetts.^[1] Tragically, he never left Readville as he contracted pneumonia and died there two months later.^[1] Prior to the war he was a farmer in Greenville, Mississippi.^[1] He was born about 1835.^[1]
