The following has been extracted from page 88 of The Reynolds Family Association - https://www.seekingmyroots.com/members/files/G005572.pdf citing Exeter Probate Records, Vol. 3, p. 67, 73. ..."John Reynolds, son of Joseph, of Kingstown" was admitted a freeman May 1, 1716. This was the son John" who took care of his father and step-mother Mercy, and who lived on his father's farm in the south-east end of the 727 acre purchase. It was on account of this John" that his nephew John', son of Joseph", was known as "John Reynolds, Jun'r." John" Reynolds was by far the wealthiest Reynolds in Exeter. He was taxed three times as much as any of the others..." "John's will, dated 7 March 1769, and proved at Exeter 16 Feb 1771, very carefully doles out his lands with precise boundaries. His inventory, made by George Peirce and George Reynolds, totaled nearly 819 pounds. He owned a few negroes who were mentioned in his will and listed in his inventory. A negro man, "Pero" was valued at 37 pounds. Though John's son Benjamin was appointed as executor of the estate, it appears he did not fulfill this role as Stephen Richmond was appointed to administer the estate on 11 Feb 1771." A portion of the above is posted on Find a Grave.
He died 2 Jan 1771.
