Nathaniel Raynols (Reynolds) was baptized 10 April 1625 at All Saints Church in Isleworth, Middlesex, England, the son of Robert Reynolds and his wife Mary (Curver) Reynolds.[1][2]

According to Savage, freeman1665, He is in Boston tax list of 1695; but had some years lived at Bristol.’
Nathaniel’s father’s will left him a large amount of property, and the family home on the corner of Washington and Milk Streets in Boston. He lived in Boston until about 1681 when he and his family removed to Bristol where he built a home on the northeast corner of Bradford and Thames Streets.313
Nathaniel had signed with the Proprietors on 27 Aug 1680 for a thirty-second part of the Mt Hope Lands, and was an original settler of Bristol. He was one of the founders on 3 May 1687 of the Congressional Church at Briston, and was elected grand juryman, sealer of leather, and selectman of Bristol. Capt. Nathaniel Reynold’s will called him of Bristol, and it was dated 7 Oct 1706 and proved 3 Nov 1708. He mentioned no wife, but named five sons: Nathaniel (eldest) of Boston, John, Peter, Joseph, and Benjamin (youngest) Reynolds; daughters Sarah wife of John Fosdick of Boston, Mary Woodbery, Hannah wife of Samuel Royall of Boston, an d Ruth Reynolds; his sister Mary Sanger of Watertwon; his house in Boston, his farm and house in Briston, and his 500 acres in Quenepank (Quinapaug). An inventory of his estate in Boston, located in the south end, was dated Boston 3 Nov 1708 and totalled £794 5s 6d.313
Nathaniel was select Mar 1685 Chief Constable for the City of Boston. Later he served as Lieut. and then Capt. in the Massachusetts Militia.401
Nathaniel was born circa 1627 in England, of parents Robert and Mary ( ) Reynolds. He was living in Dedham, Suffolk County, Province of Massachusetts Bay by 30 December 1657 when he was married 1st, to Sarah Dwight in Boston by Gov. John Endicott.[3] Together they had three children, Sarah, Mary, and Nathaniel. Sarah died in Boston 8 July 1663. He married 2nd, Priscilla Brackett by 19 March 1664/5. They had eight children together, the first six born in Boston, the last two in Bristol (then in Massachusetts). They removed to Bristol some time after the 1681 birth of daughter Hannah. Nathaniel was one of the founders, and made a deacon of, in May 1687, the Bristol Church. He died suddenly in Bristol on 10 July 1708.[4]
