Biography

Helen was born in 1897 in North Andover, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of George Rextrow Jr. (1863-1908) and Elizabeth Anne (McCloud) Rextrow (1861-1934).

Helen was enlisted in the U.S. Navy from October 1917 to December 1918.^[1] Here is a link to a Navy history web page[1]

Helen married Walter Shaw Dickson in 1918. They had four daughters and lived in Middlesex County, Massachusetts where Walter owned a grocery chain. Walter died young in a car crash in Florida in 1950.

Helen died in 1984 in Lexington, Massachusetts.

• At the time of the 1930 U.S. Census Helen's mother Elizabeth Anne (McCloud) Rextrow (1861-1934) was living with the family.

• Not at Ridgewood Cemetery.

• Should have a veteran's plaque.
