I became interested in genealogy about age 40 when my great-uncle, who lived in another state, set me on a mission to visit two local cemeteries and collect photos and data on our Palmer and Stephenson lines. I am, at heart, a researcher, but had not been very interested in our family history. As I researched these ancestors back to the Civil War era, I came forward and found their living descendants - cousins I had never met! I also learned what stock we came from - hardy people who overcame hardship with determination and perseverance. I have enjoyed proving out our family tree, meeting cousins, participating in and helping organize family reunions. I have even self-published a book on my Palmer line (thanks to my great-uncle's assignment, and to the descendant of my g-grandmother's brother who shared family photos and stories). I am honored to be entrusted with our family history. Laura Remy, AKA "the keeper of the stuff"

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

I’ll be digging into the sources you presented in the next week, as I don’t have the time today. Many thanks for your work.

We are so happy you have upgraded to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
