No record of his birth has been found, but since he was village head (Schultz) of Zbosse, as was his father before him, it is highly probable he was born in Zbosse.

Note

All of this information is courtesy of Prof. William Remus, Univ. of Hawaii.[3]
Peter lived in the village of Grünlinde (Zbosse) (pp. 671-672) (half way between Zempelburg and Vandsburg). The Remus (Christian name unknown although he was the village head (Schulze)) listed here in the 1772 census is not mentioned in Goerke's "Der Kreis Flatow;" the 1772 census lists the village head as living with his wife, two sons, three daughters, five hired male workers, and three hired female workers.
The Catholic Church Books of this village list Peter Remus and his wife Catharine Thomasowa as living here and having four sons and three daughters On the record of the birth of their son Johan Ludwig, Peter is indicated to be a sculteta (Schultze). Also Peter has the requisite number of sons and daughters. So I think Peter is the village head mentioned above. They were Lutherans but prior to 1772 when Poland controlled this area, but from 1717 to 1772 even Lutherans had to baptize and register their children with the Catholic Church. Also note that the first three children of Daniel the elder Remus were born in this village (Zbosse).
Gunter lists a Peter Remus in 1748 getting Privileg and 4 Höfe (farms). Also Dorfprivileg in Wissoka with 8 Höfe. page xvii Both Zbosse and Wissoka were shared with Peter Scharmer. This was in a document on lds 491232 showing the probating of his father Peter's estate. This document also lists his duties to the Count.
August Blanke in his 1936 book on Kreis Schlochau, West Prussia[2] says that Peter Klawitter was originally the landlord of the tavern in Buchholz. Around 1783 Peter Klawitter exchanged the Buchholz Krug for the Zbosse Freischulzengut (the village head's house) with the Remus family of Zbosse. Johan Remus became the Kruger of Buchholtz and is so shown in 1791. So this Johan Remus is most likely the prior Zbosse Schultzengut resident Peter Remus' eldest son Johan Ludwig Remus (b. 1763) (or perhaps Peter Klawitter's wife Susanna's older brother Johan David Remus (son of Lorenz Remus)). Why this swap occurred is not clear.
Johan Remus married Ann Koeppen. He soon died and Ann married Johan Halweg and later Andreas Janke. According to Blanke, this property in Buchholz remained in that family into the 20th century but was lost to the Remus family.
