Johanette Reitz wurde am 20. Januar 1861[1] in Gießen, Kreis Gießen, Großherzogtum Hessen, Deutsches Reich, als Tochter von Philipp Reitz (~1838 - ) und Lisette Johannette (Rinn) Reitz (1838 - <1889) geboren.

Johanette Reitz wurde unehelich gezeugt, jedoch nach der Hochzeit ihrer Eltern legitimiert. Im Taufeintrag steht: Als Vater zu diesem Kinde hat sich bekannt: Philipp Reitz, Schuhmachergesell, des hiesigen Bürgers, Johannes Reitz, und der Dorothea Klöß, eheliche Tochter des verstorbenen Ortsbürgers und Maureres, Johann Klöß in Münster, ehelicher Sohn.

Sie wurde am 03. Februar 1861[1] getauft.

Johanette Reitz was conceived out of wedlock, but legitimized after her parents' marriage. The baptismal entry states: As father to this child has confessed: Philipp Reitz, Schuhmachergesell, of the local citizen, Johannes Reitz, and Dorothea Klöß, legitimate daughter of the deceased local citizen and mason, Johann Klöß in Münster, legitimate son.

She was baptized on 03 February 1861[1].
