Their descendant Johan George Reitz was not the immigrant to America. He married Catharine Krug at Lohrhaupten in 1755, and died there in 1775. Never came to America.

But up the valley 10 km, at Bieber, was another Johan George Reitz, son of Heinrich and Phronica (LNU) Reitz, b. 1713 living at Büchelbach, between Bieber and Röhrig. He m. Anna Martha Koller at Bieber in 1744. They had two daughters there prior to receiving permission to emigrate in Mar. 1751. He is the Northumberland County pioneer.

Considering the proximity of Büchelbach to Röhrig, it is highly likely the two families are related.

In 2021, Y-DNA tests of one descendant of each line, (this Johan George) and Johan Friedrich, son of Johannes mentioned here, were revealed to be closely related; 103 of 111 SNPs. So the two Johan Georges were related. Exactly how is probably in the Bieber Evangelisch Kirchbuch, in inscrutable German handwriting.

I have images of those books for years 1654 through 1744+, if someone will volunteer to translate the entries that appear to be Reitzes, please contact me.
