Franz Reiss was born on 17 Dec 1814 in Heggen bei Attendorn, Kreis Olpe, Westfalen, Preussen. He was the son of Johann Everhard Reis and Anna Elisabeth Freithoff.
He was married in 1838 to Elisabeth Ducro.
He died on 5 Mar 1894 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York.
