James Read/Reid was born in 1842 in Somerset, England, the son of Eliza (Gray) Reid and William Read.[citation needed]
He married Mary Ann Trigg in 1887 in Victoria, Australia.[1]
James died in 1925 in Geelong, Victoria, aged 87 years.[2]
