Biography

Lula Mae Raynor was born on 12 January 1902 in North Carolina, United States. She was the daughter of Major James Raynor (1880-1959) and Mary Nettie (Davis) Raynor (abt.1878-1968).

Lula Mae was 8 years old when the 1910 United States Census was taken. She was listed as a daughter in the household of her father, Major J. Raynor. They Raynor family was living in Grays Creek, Cumberland County, North Carolina.[1]

On 26 Jan 1919, Lula Mae Johns, who was 17 years old, and Phillip Henry Malcolm Johns, son of Joseph Thomas Brazil and Viola Hienz, were married in Brewton, Escambia County, Alabama.[2]

In 1920, Lula Mae and Phillip Johns and their son James were enumerated on the United States Census living in Brewton, Escambia County, Alabama. They would continue to make their home in Brewton for the rest of their lives and were enumerated there on the 1930, 1940, and 1950 United States Censuses.[3][4][5][6]

Lula Mae's husband died in 1960.[7]

Lula Mae (Raynor) Johns passed away on 02 March 1970 in Brewton, Escambia County, Alabama. She was buried in Fort Crawford Cemetery, East Brewton, Escambia County, Alabama.[8]
