In 1930 he was 40 living in Georgetown. His wife Myrtle 33, and their children Adra 17, Leathen 15, David 7, James 5, Elizabeth 4, Annie 3, Frank 1, and Ruth age 0 were living with him. They also had a boarder staying with them 18-year-old Monroe, Casslman.[4]
In 1937 they had a second set of twins Sally and Johnie. Both died at about 1-month-old. They were living in Andrews, Georgetown at the time and the twins were buried at Bethel Cemetery in Andrews.[5][6]
In 1940 he was 50 years old and his wife Myrtle was 43, they were living in Andrews, Georgetown. They had 12 of their children living with them Leathen 22, David 17, JD 15, Elizabeth 14, Annie Mae 13, Frank 11, Ruth 10, Bobby 8, Betty Lou 6, Danny 4, Donnie 4, and Beeler 18. General's father Francis Marion 83 was also living with them.[7]
In the 1950 census General (age 63) was the married head of household in Andrews, Georgetown, South Carolina, United States.[8]
General died at the age of 79, on 23 Jan 1968 in Andrews, Georgetown, South Carolina. He was buried at Bethel United Methodist Cemetery.[9][1][10]
